April sees VOSC commemorate its first year of the independent test facility being officially open - and what a year it has been.
From relocating from STATUS at Manchester Metropolitan University, renovating and recalibrating and gaining VCA approval for the test rig in readiness for providing test services, developing the membership scheme and bimonthly Legislations and Approvals Bulletin (LAB) through to carrying out the first (of many) tests and hosting the official open event to welcome experts in a multitude of automotive & transport industries to discover VOSC’s facility and expertise, it’s been an exciting and busy year for the team here.
This first year has seen a variety of marketplaces and products being installed on the test rig for static pull tests for varying regulations. It has also seen our members and customers steadily grow as the industry discovered more about who we are and the services we provide.
With a company mission to provide the industry with a flexible, reliable test house to enable customers and members to easily depend upon the quality specialist testing and expertise we can offer for each individual project. It is this flexible approach to the test scheduling that Engineering Director, Russell Edmunds states has been a huge contributing factor to the first year success. Russell commented; ‘Being able to provide the automotive industry With an adaptable approach to the schedule and project work alongside the membership offering of the bimonthly LAB newsletter supplying customers with latest legislation updates, has allowed for VOSC to build up a reputation of being a testing facility operating with a high level of confidentiality, dependability and supplying specialist expertise; of which we aim to continue and build upon.’
So what’s our plan for the next 12 months?
Already we have expanded on the initial testing services we provided when we opened last April with the inclusion of ISOFIX anchorage testing now available and we anticipate the addition of further services and expertise being available over the coming year.
One of the main objectives for this year is to continue to provide quality testing service and expert advice with assisting marketplaces with tests and type approval work. The membership scheme will continue but we would like more member involvement and we welcome any feedback on what you - the marketplace would like to see as part of the membership in order to better serve the industry. Most importantly we aim to continue to build our customer relationships with existing and new clients at VOSC whilst providing a high standard of services and guidance on the specialist automotive legislation topics.
From the whole VOSC team, we would like to thank you all for your support, enquiries and custom over our first year and we look forward to continue our partnership with you all over the years to come.
