We help vehicle manufacturers and importers choose the most appropriate method of approval, we then go on to inspect the vehicles and advise on the correct specifications to achieve compliance.
Our advice will help manufacturers and their associations with the type of approval authority. Applications for Type approval are made with extensive paperwork which we compile and submit to the type approval authority on your behalf.

Members often ask us questions about design of road vehicles to comply with legislation. We have numerous years’ experience answering technical questions about related subjects such as vehicle registration, Construction & Use Regulations, Individual Vehicle Approval and Type Approval.

For example, companies ask what kind of seat belts can be used in unusual situations, perhaps for disabled passengers or rear facing seats. They will ask if a particular light component “complies with IVA”, or basic questions like where they can get copies of relevant legislation. Others ask which type approval system is most appropriate for their vehicles, or which base vehicle is suitable for conversion – “how do I know if X base vehicle complies with current emissions legislation”?
